How to install Cr-48 Chromebook Recovery.
1: Check for the ‘Chrome OS‘ is missing or damaged” message, If you don’t see this message, trigger this screen by pressing the recovery button on your Chromebook. Consult the help information provided by your Cr-48 Chromebook manufacturer to see where this button is located on your device.
2: Create the recovery USB flash drive,
OS: for Windows;
- Click this link to download the image: Download cr48 Chromebook Recovery
- Extract the .bin file from the .zip you just downloaded (e.g.
chromeos__x86-mario_recovery_beta-channel_mp.bin). - Download a Windows image writer tool (e.g. Image Writer for Windows).
- Follow the instructions in the image writer tool and choose the download binary file (e.g.
chromeos__x86-mario_recovery_beta-channel_mp.img) to burn to a USB drive. If you’re using Image Writer for Windows, you may have to manually rename the image file to end in.img.
OS: for Macintosh;
The easiest way to create the recovery flash drive is to use the Recovery Tool. The tool may not be available in all languages. (more…)
